Persons with disabilities, parents of children with disabilities, orphaned children, government leaders, and community members gathered in Dar es Salaam for “Meza ya Upendo,” a community event organized by Tupo Sawa Organization to promote inclusion, shared learning, and social solidarity.

Tupo Sawa Organization organized a special community engagement event known as “Meza ya Upendo” (Dining with Love),at 14/2/2026 bringing together persons with disabilities, mothers raising children with disabilities, orphaned children, government leaders, and members of the wider community.
The event created a welcoming and inclusive space where participants gathered around a shared table to enjoy a meal together as a symbol of love, unity, dignity, and equality within society.
“Meza ya Upendo” was designed not only as a moment of social interaction but also as an opportunity to strengthen relationships between persons with disabilities, community members, and institutions working toward inclusive development.
A Platform for Learning and Empowerment
Beyond sharing food together, participants benefited from a series of educational sessions aimed at strengthening knowledge and improving community well-being.
Financial experts from UTT AMIS provided inclusive financial education, equipping participants with practical knowledge on saving, financial planning, and investment opportunities that can help build long-term financial stability.
The event also included an important awareness session on preventing drug abuse and illegal drug distribution, with a focus on protecting persons with disabilities and empowering them with knowledge to make informed decisions and avoid harmful environments.
In addition, participants received health education, emphasizing the importance of healthy lifestyles, preventive care, and access to health services.
Another key discussion focused on “Milango ya Upendo” (Doors of Love), encouraging the community to embrace values of compassion, solidarity, and support for vulnerable groups, ensuring that no one is excluded from opportunities for growth and participation.
Strengthening Community Partnerships
The presence of government representatives, community leaders, and stakeholders highlighted the importance of collaboration between civil society organizations, government institutions, and the community in promoting inclusive development.
